HOUSE KUPENDA

House Kupenda is designed as a home rooted in community and nature. It balances a protected courtyard core with open views toward the surrounding landscape, reflecting the family’s shared way of living.

The proposal for the Jorejick family home is conceived as a balance between shelter and openness. At its heart, the house forms a protected courtyard that connects daily life to the sky, light, and climate. At the same time, the design opens outward toward the surrounding landscape, maintaining a strong relationship with the earth and the environment that shapes the family’s way of life.

Movement through the house follows a natural and continuous flow, much like wind through the trees. The Jorejick family has a deeply communal lifestyle, where shared time and shared space are central. For this reason, the project introduces interstitial common areas—spaces that are neither entirely inside nor outside, where family members can meet, gather, and be together beyond the standard living areas.

House Kupenda places emphasis on the connection between people and nature. The architecture does not separate the family from the landscape; instead, it allows life to unfold seamlessly across thresholds, honoring their values of closeness, openness, and community.
